Financial Modelling Specialist – Shape the Future with Data-Driven InsightsA high-impact opportunity awaits a detail-oriented Financial Modelling Specialist with a passion for driving strategic business decisions. This role is ideal for an analytical thinker with expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and data analysis—particularly within the mining sector. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop short-term (annual budget) and long-term (life-of-mine) financial models.
  • Conduct benchmarking and process analysis in collaboration with operational teams.
  • Analyze and update financial data, including budgets, income statements, and forecasts.
  • Identify trends, assess risks, and provide insights to optimize business performance.
  • Structure reports on financial status and risk to support key decision-making.
  • Maintain and refine financial models to align with investor and financing requirements.
  • Assist with strategic planning, investment decisions, and business development initiatives.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders, including investors, financiers, and government agencies.
What You Need to Succeed:
Mandatory Qualifications:
  • BSc Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Analyst or Financial Modeller with strong forecasting skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, taxation, and mining-related financial matters.
  • Strong analytical skills with a sharp eye for accuracy and numerical proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor of Business Science (BBusSc) or BCom in Financial Mathematics, Accounting, or Statistics.
  • Background in project and infrastructure finance , particularly in the mining industry.
  • 7+ years of financial modelling experience, ideally in mining.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for complex financial analysis.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive, independent work approach.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Management experience is a plus.
