Financial Modelling Specialist – Shape the Future with Data-Driven InsightsA high-impact opportunity awaits a detail-oriented Financial Modelling Specialist with a passion for driving strategic business decisions. This role is ideal for an analytical thinker with expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and data analysis—particularly within the mining sector. Key Responsibilities:- Develop short-term (annual budget) and long-term (life-of-mine) financial models.
- Conduct benchmarking and process analysis in collaboration with operational teams.
- Analyze and update financial data, including budgets, income statements, and forecasts.
- Identify trends, assess risks, and provide insights to optimize business performance.
- Structure reports on financial status and risk to support key decision-making.
- Maintain and refine financial models to align with investor and financing requirements.
- Assist with strategic planning, investment decisions, and business development initiatives.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, including investors, financiers, and government agencies.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- BSc Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Financial Analyst or Financial Modeller with strong forecasting skills.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, taxation, and mining-related financial matters.
- Strong analytical skills with a sharp eye for accuracy and numerical proficiency.
- Bachelor of Business Science (BBusSc) or BCom in Financial Mathematics, Accounting, or Statistics.
- Background in project and infrastructure finance , particularly in the mining industry.
- 7+ years of financial modelling experience, ideally in mining.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for complex financial analysis.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive, independent work approach.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Management experience is a plus.
