Responsibilities:

Installation & Setup
-
Install HVAC and refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and related components.

Ensure proper electrical connections and refrigerant charging.

Follow blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.

Maintenance & Inspection
-
Perform routine maintenance to ensure system efficiency.
-
Clean and replace filters, coils, and fans.
-
Check for leaks, worn-out parts, and system malfunctions.

Repairs & Troubleshooting
-
Diagnose issues with HVAC and refrigeration units.
-
Repair or replace defective components such as motors, thermostats, and compressors.
-
Test system performance after repairs.

Refrigerant Handling
-
Handle refrigerants according to EPA regulations.
-
Recover and recharge refrigerant gases safely.
-

Customer Service & Documentation
-
Communicate with customers about maintenance schedules and repairs.
-
Keep records of inspections, repairs, and replacements.
-
Provide cost estimates for repairs and installations.
-

Safety & Compliance
-
Adhere to safety standards and regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
-
Follow proper procedures for hazardous materials and electrical work.

Requirements:

Education & Certification
-
High school diploma or GED.
-
HVAC/R certification or diploma from a trade school preferred.
-
EPA Section 608 Certification (for refrigerant handling).
-
Additional certifications (e.g., NATE, R-410A safety, OSHA 10/30) are a plus.

Experience
-
1–5 years of experience in HVAC or refrigeration (depending on job level).

Knowledge of different HVAC systems (residential, commercial, industrial).

Technical Skills
-
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.

Proficiency with tools like gauges, welding equipment, and multimeters.

Understanding of electrical wiring, plumbing, and refrigeration cycles.

Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to lift heavy equipment (50+ lbs).
-
Work in extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
-
Travel to different job sites and be on-call for emergencies.
