Main Purpose of the Job
Ensure strict compliance with accounting policies, standards and proper maintenance of accounting records. Ensure compliance with SARS regulations and manage third party payments. Responsible for national finance reporting to holding company. Minimum Job Requirements: C.A (S.A.) essential. Minimum 2 years experience in a Senior Financial Accountant or Financial Manager role. Articles with Big Four firm, a strong advantage.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Report directly to the Finance Director:
Review all acquisitions and disposals into asset management system as well as related tax and accounting rates/information. Prepare FAR and reconciliation of assets. Review of WIP. Review payroll data and records on a monthly basis. Prepare and submit tax returns (provisional/income tax). Review and verify payments to SARS. Review VAT return, VAT reconciliations and assist where required to resolve differences. Improve BBBEE status and facilitate BEE audit. Prepare finance risk profile and develop plans. Collate, prepare and interpret reports, budgets, accounts, and financial statements. Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines to regions, Group and Board. Prepare financial and regulatory reports required by laws, regulations and Boards of Directors. Prepare quarterly reporting including Audit Committee, BBBEE, Risk and Sustainability to Group as well as review of Board pack. Review regional quarterly year end schedules. Prepare year end accounting pack. Assist the regions to prepare and present their annual budgets to management. Prepare Head Office budget. Prepare consolidated and regional budget templates. Detail first level review of national budgets. Administrator budget system (IDU), ensuring ongoing maintenance of the system and setup of quarterly and annual forecasts as well as annual budgets. Assist Regional Finance teams with queries. Develop and manage financial systems/models. Manage cash flow. Review general ledger reconciliations. Approve journal entries, orders, creditors reconciliations and payments. Submit Workmens Compensation return of earnings. Review monthly VAT 201 and EMP 201 returns. Consolidate and submit insurance declarations to Group on a quarterly and annual basis. Month end consolidations and reporting to Exco and Group. Oversee national projects to improve processes in Finance, Operations, Payroll and other areas of the business that link into Finance. Monitor Customs and Bond Store compliance nationally. Year on year review of revenue and expenses to identify gaps. Oversee claims and inciden
