Description:
JOB PURPOSE:
Provides first-class sales by marketing the company's products or Services. Securing new business opportunities by crafting compelling technical proposals and pricing strategies.
Prepare project cost estimates for IT/technology tender projects, to assist management in bidding on or determining price of projects or Services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Opportunity Analysis & Proposal:
Identify and assess potential bid opportunities, analyzing tender documents to understand requirements and terms.
Identify leads both in the Public and Private sector, qualified those leads.
Review requests for proposals (RFPs), (RFQ) & (RFI).
Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals, and assist Bid Administrators to write and edit content, ensuring compliance with tender specifications, and coordinating internal reviews.
Quoting customers on their IT requirements. Placing orders and following up with suppliers.
Client Engagement:
Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and technical requirements.
Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
Communicate effectively to gather insights and translate client needs into tailored IT solutions.
Attend site client site briefing/clarification meetings where required.
Technical Proposal Development:
Analyze client requirements to design customized IT solutions that align with their goals.
Prepare comprehensive technical proposals, detailing solution architectures, implementation plans, and expected outcomes.
Ensure proposals are clear, persuasive, and demonstrate the organization's capability to deliver.
Support supplier meetings and negotiations to challenge quotation prices and aim for cost reductions to meet target costs
Cost Estimates & Technical Pricing:
Develop pricing strategies that reflect the value of proposed IT solutions while remaining competitive.
Collaborate with internal teams to estimate costs accurately and determine appropriate pricing models.
Provide cost estimates during change process and advise of cost impact of changes, Track and monitor activity.
Present pricing information transparently to clients, addressing any concerns or negotiations effectively.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Engage with internal departments such as sales, marketing, finance, legal, and delivery teams to gather necessary information and ensure timely proposal submissions.
Analyse supplier quotes and provide information and data, which aids communications with suppliers and customers and achieves cost optimization.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate records of all bid-related documents, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
General:
Participate in post-bid reviews, address client feedback, and support contract negotiations as required.
Provide regular sales pipeline updates and reporting on all aspects of the opportunities to management
Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities appropriate to the level of this post as required by the BDM.
Requirements:
Qualifications
§ Matric (Grade 12)
§ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology.
§ Driver’s License & Own Vehicle
Required Experience
§ 3 to 5 years of experience in bid management within the IT sector, with a proven track record of successful bid submissions.
§ 3 to 5 years of formal estimating and pricing experience on IT projects
§ Experience in developing leads and researching potential clients
§ Ability to contact customers, complete sales and manage other tasks independently.
§ Experience in analysing and compiling IT related bids/tenders/proposals.
§ Experience in reading and analysing requests for proposal (RFPs) and requests for quotation (RFQs).
