Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a talented and driven Web Developer to join our dynamic marketing team. The purpose of this role is to design, develop, and optimise website and eCommerce experiences in line with the company's digital strategy. This role supports business growth by improving user experience, increasing conversions, and integrating essential systems, including Sage 50 and various online marketplaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain WordPress websites with WooCommerce integration.
- Develop and optimise user journeys, product pages, and landing pages to maximise conversions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot the integration between WooCommerce and Sage 50.
- Track, analyse, and report on key website performance metrics such as SEO, UX, CRO, and site speed.
- Produce regular performance reports with actionable optimisation insights.
- Manage and update product listings, categories, and on-site content.
- Support the integration and performance of digital marketplaces, including B&Q and Amazon.
- Implement and manage tracking tools (Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel).
- Collaborate with the Google Ads agency to optimise landing pages for conversion.
- Ensure all websites follow mobile-first, responsive design, and SEO best practices.
- Maintain site security, software updates, and regular backups.
- Proactively identify and implement opportunities for site and process improvements.
- Contribute to marketing strategy through active participation in team meetings and sharing digital insights.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Marketing Manager.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Proven experience in WordPress and WooCommerce development.
- Strong ability to customise themes, plugins, and templates.
- Experience using page builders (e.g., Elementor).
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and optimisation tools.
- Proficient in using GA4, GTM, and Facebook Pixel for tracking and performance analysis.
- Solid understanding of Core Web Vitals and how to improve them.
- Experience integrating with accounting systems such as Sage 50.
- Knowledge of digital marketplaces, including B&Q Marketplace and Amazon.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of tasks.
- Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and a creative approach to user experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; content editing and SEO copy familiarity is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
