Job Overview:The Curtain Seamstress is responsible for sewing, assembling, and finishing custom-made curtains and other soft furnishings such as blinds, pelmets, and tiebacks. The role involves interpreting customer requirements, cutting fabric, and using sewing machines and hand-finishing techniques to deliver high-quality window treatments.Key Responsibilities:Curtain Making & SewingMeasure, cut, and sew various curtain styles including pencil pleat, eyelet, wave, pinch pleat, and rod pocketStitch linings, interlinings, and blackout layers where requiredProduce custom orders according to client measurements and design specificationsEnsure accurate and neat hemming, joining, and finishingCustomer & Design SupportAssist clients in understanding fabric types, curtain styles, and finishing optionsInterpret sketches, instructions, or sample photos to produce desired resultsWork closely with sales staff or interior designers on custom ordersQuality ControlInspect final products to ensure consistent sizing, straight seams, and clean finishesFix errors, redo seams, or adjust patterns as neededMaintain high standards of craftsmanship for every orderWorkshop & Equipment MaintenanceOperate industrial and domestic sewing machines safely and effectivelyMaintain sewing equipment and work area in good conditionManage fabric usage to minimize waste Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Grade 10–12 / Matric Certificate
• Sewing or dressmaking qualification (advantageous but not always required)
• At least 2–3 years' experience in curtain making or general sewing
• Skilled in using industrial sewing machines and hand stitching techniques
• Understanding of various curtain styles and fabric properties

Requirements:
