A position has opened for an experienced Payroll Officer to assist the Payroll Manager. Sage 300 experience essential. Minimum Requirements:- Grade 12
- Finance / Payroll qualification preferred
- At least 5 years experience in Payroll
- Sage 300 and VIP Premier experience
- Excellent Excel experience
- Detailed orientated
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and distribute payroll work procedures and schedules to the team.
- Proactively inform relevant Line Managers of any potential payroll issues and create corrective action plans.
- Manage the preparation and processing of payroll using Sage VIP Premier.
- Keep employee records accurate and up-to-date.
- Address and resolve employee salary inquiries.
- Support payroll reporting and reconciliations.
- Maintain thorough documentation of payroll control processes.
- Remain current on company remuneration policies and relevant tax laws.
- Prepare and process month-end payroll journals and ensure accurate integration with the financial system.
- Serve as a point of contact for Management and staff regarding payroll matters.
- Review and verify all payroll information submitted by the team.
- Guarantee that all payroll system settings comply with legislative updates, including employee tax year-end in February.
- Reconcile payroll data and provide all necessary information for SARS submissions.
- Adhere to all Payroll deadlines.
