Description:
Hire Resolve's client, a leading construction company is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Site Engineer/Site Agent to join their dynamic team in Kempton Park, GP.
Responsibilities:
Planning & Costing:
- Ensure approved Pre-plans and effective planning of activities (quantity, resources, time).
- Monitor cost forecasts and production progress, taking corrective actions when needed.
- Ensure accurate weekly/monthly reports and updates to estimates.
Operational Management:
- Ensure operations meet minimum standards and identify efficiency improvements.
- Oversee production, consumption, and necessary paperwork (e.g., Tally sheets).
- Regularly assess and adjust operations for continuous improvement.
Site Administration:
- Maintain document filing, track rework time/cost, and follow risk and method statements.
- Control Plant, Labour, Materials, and stock, and manage order processes with suppliers.
- Ensure timely payment certificate submissions and manage contractual/financial matters.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure PPE, safety files, and audits are in place.
- Monitor safety incidents and ensure compliance with procedures.
Quality Assurance:
- Align method statements and resources with plans.
- Ensure Quality Assurance systems are followed, and documentation is distributed on time.
Communication & Company Image:
- Promote the company’s vision and ensure professional conduct on-site.
- Maintain clear communication, provide feedback, and ensure company visibility.
Requirements and skills:
- Relevant degree/diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Certifications in Health & Safety or Project Management are a plus.
- 8+ years as a Site Agent with reputable businesses in civil engineering.
- Experience in large-scale construction projects.
- Strong planning, leadership, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of construction operations, safety protocols, and project management tools.
- Must be willing to travel and work in multiple provinces (Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Western Cape, North West, Limpopo) and Eswatini.
