Our client, a leading player in the clearing and forwarding industry, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Global Trade Lane Manager to manage and grow their Asia Desk. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing trade lane performance, driving sales, and optimizing procurement strategies for air and ocean freight between Asia and Southern Africa.Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (essential)
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Sales & Marketing (essential)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the clearing and forwarding industry
- Proven track record in international transportation , sales , and Asia trade lane management
- Strong understanding of air and ocean freight operations
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow the Asia trade lane (both import and export), focusing on strategic markets and sectors
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with overseas agents, carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Provide key input to Air and Ocean procurement to support product development and competitive pricing strategies
- Drive business development efforts to increase trade volumes and secure new opportunities on the Asia lane
- Monitor trade lane performance and recommend improvements to maximize efficiency and profitability
- Work closely with the sales team to develop and implement trade lane-specific sales campaigns
- Ensure service excellence through consistent follow-up on shipments, resolving operational issues promptly
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities within the Asia trade region
- Collaborate with operations, finance, and compliance teams to ensure end-to-end service delivery
- Support customer pricing strategies and RFQ responses with relevant lane-specific information
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international trade regulations, customs compliance, and Incoterms
- Report on trade lane activities, sales performance, and forecasts to senior management

- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on service delivery and operational efficiency
