Purpose of the Job:
Maintain accurate and complete general ledgers with responsibility for related accounting functions and staff where necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting:
Ensure accurate and complete general ledgers. Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly and clear reconciling items promptly. Review bank reconciliations monthly. Reconcile and confirm intercompany loan accounts. Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, including allocation, addition of fixed assets, monthly depreciation, and reconciliation to the general ledger. Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns via e-filing by the 25th of each month. Process tenant deposit refunds and appropriations. Calculate collection commission per the rent roll. Reconcile and clear the Debtors Clearing account regularly. Update and distribute the monthly cut-off schedule. Identify depreciable assets from Capex and Tenant Installation accounts. Prepare monthly journals, including pro rata allocations of interest and bank charges, net income distributions, and capex claims. Prepare monthly financial packs for external clients and balance cash flow documents and supporting schedules. Prepare weekly cash flow statements and control expenditure and cash flow. Review ledgers and identify monthly accruals. Ensure adherence to controls and procedures, identifying and implementing additional controls as needed. Provide accounting and administrative assistance as required. Assist property managers with finance-related issues for the property portfolio under management. Prepare preliminary financial statements and advise property managers when ready. Review preliminary financial statements per building and ensure recurring entries are captured. Prepare financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).Skills and Competencies:

Matric (Must). BCom Honours or a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting. SAICA Articles plus 2 years post-articles in an accounting or related role.Experience:
