Description:
Our client is a tech start-up making life better for everyday households in Africa and is looking for a Data Analyst (Finance) at their offices in Cape Town, South Africa. Being a digitally only organisation and as such, the accounting is automatically produced by integrations to our source systems for sales, costs, payments, with minor adjustments.
This role will work directly with the CFO and the CTO to produce assurance on these financial integrations, and spec and manage the development of further integrations or migrations. You will have unique exposure to all the commercial projects, operations and system architecture of the business.
As such, this role falls into both our Engineering and Commercial tracks, with potential growth into any of the Finance, Commercial or Data teams.
Requirements:
Comp Sci, Engineering, Mathematics or Accounting university degree from reputable academic university with strong results 1-3 years of experience
The ideal background:
Experience understanding systems through data and people engagement Experience gathering, presenting and reporting on data Building data assets in SQL or any on-prem or cloud data manipulation tools (Spark, Hive, Big query, Athena etc.) Basic understanding of finance and accounting is advantageous

We pay USD denominated salary (set in USD, converted to ZAR on payment date, paid into SA account, post PAYE Annual cash bonus based on company and personal performance (0-60% of annual base) Opportunity to partake in ESOP after 12 months, based on personal performance Team members to spend at least 50% of their time in the office (Waterfront), they can choose days, hours etc.General:
