Description:
Seeking a dynamic and driven Warehouse & Quality Assistant to facilitate our operations manager in supporting our sales and logistics functions in our engineering steel warehouse. This role is instrumental in supporting revenue growth, ensure a smooth flow of our operations, whilst promoting efficient customer satisfaction. The role assists in fostering a constructive dialogue between our sales, operations and dispatch teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate qualities of leadership, good mechanical and industry knowledge, and a passion for overcoming challenge
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Operations manager in monitoring and managing of supervisors and other staff
Ensuring that safety requirements set by Divisional SHEQ Administrator are adhered to by all staff
Doing regular inspections on warehouses housekeeping
Controlling and co-ordinating all stock movements between warehouses, e.g. warehouse transfers
and reclassification of stock
Monitor and manage all receiving clerks to ensure receiving standards and procedures are being
adhered to
Arranging the replenishment of empty racks from receiving areas and reporting these movements
back the Divisional Supply Chain Manager
Reporting of all stock shortages
Handling and reporting of all quality issues to the Divisional SHEQ Administrator and Divisional Supply Chain Manager
Attend to customer quality call-outs and generate reports for the Divisional SHEQ Administrator
Assist in disciplinary matters in the warehouses Communication of all lead times, delays, issues in warehouses with Operations manager and Sales Department
Assist with internal training for warehouse staff
Assist with the movement and control of scrap material
Administrate and co-ordinate heat treatment requests
Assist in the co-ordination of cycle counts and stock takes
Investigate and report on stock check requests
Administrative support to the operations manager when ultrasonic testing is conducted
Communicate non-conformance issues on material received to Divisional Supply Chain Manager
Sign-off and receiving of all stock returned for credit under supervision of the supply chain manager
Quality Reports and presentations to customers, quality inspectors/controllers
Material bar cast stamping monitoring
Key Requirements:
A mechanical qualification or certification relevant to the industry is required.
2 years working experience in an industrial environment, the steel industry would be to your advantage
Code 10 Drivers License
Ability to read, comprehend and explain mechanical documents, drawings and calculations
Hands-on and involved, practically capable of performing general minor repairs and adjustments
Leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team<
