Key Responsibilities:- Leadership Excellence: Guide and mentor the engineering team, ensuring adherence to industry best practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Refrigeration Systems Management: Take the reins on the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of our refrigeration systems. Optimize efficiency and reliability, with a focus on ammonia plant operations.
- Project Leadership: Manage engineering projects from start to finish, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements, driving productivity gains and cost reductions.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality teams to ensure engineering systems meet the highest food safety and product quality standards.
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Lead the response to any equipment failures, swiftly implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on the latest industry regulations and ensure full compliance with all relevant standards.
- Risk Management: Assess engineering risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential hazards, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Training & Development: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by training and mentoring engineering staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering roles within the poultry processing industry, with a focus on refrigeration systems.
- In-depth knowledge of refrigeration principles, including HVAC, cold storage, and freezing technologies.
- Proven success in managing complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
- Familiarity with industry regulations such as HACCP and OSHA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an aptitude for troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus.
