Minimum RequirementsA minimum of 7 years post admission, in-depth experience in High Court defended/opposed banking litigation, with a particular emphasis on foreclosure proceedings. Thorough understanding of the Uniform Rules of Court, relevant legislation and applicable case law relevant to banking litigation. Must be in good standing with the Legal Practice Council. Proven ability to manage and progress a full portfolio of defended foreclosure litigation matters, from inception to finalisation. Experience in departmental or team leadership will be a strong advantage, including supervision of junior attorneys, candidate attorneys, or paralegals. Capable of working autonomously while maintaining alignment with broader strategic litigation goals and client expectations. Client-focused approach with the ability to liaise confidently with banks, legal representatives, and clients. Familiarity with client mandates and SLA compliance in the context of financial institution recoveries work. Able to function on CourtOnline & CaseLinesThe proposed salary for the role is apx R50k per month, but the option remains with the client to offer any market related salary considering the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
