Key Responsibilities:Installations:
Install electrical systems, wiring, outlets, lighting fixtures, and other electrical equipment.
Read blueprints and technical diagrams to design and implement electrical systems according to specifications.
Maintenance and Repair:
Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems and perform necessary repairs or upgrades.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, such as circuit overloads, short circuits, or faulty wiring.
Testing and Safety:
Test electrical systems using appropriate tools (e.g., multimeters, insulation resistance testers) to ensure proper functioning and safety. •
Adhere to electrical codes and regulations while ensuring the safety of the worksite.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and repair faults in electrical wiring and equipment, troubleshooting issues in electrical systems and components.
Replace or repair faulty electrical components, such as switches, breakers, and outlets.
Compliance:
Ensure that all electrical work complies with national and local electrical codes, laws, and safety regulations.
Work with inspectors to confirm that installations meet safety standards and pass inspection.
Customer Interaction:
Communicate with clients to understand their electrical needs and provide cost estimates.
Provide recommendations on energy efficiency or safety improvements to clients.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including services, materials used, and time spent on each job.
Complete service reports and log details of repairs or installations.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:Completion of an apprenticeship program or technical school in electrical work
Solar installation experience, maintenance, and repair.
Valid Wireman’s license
Valid Driver’s license
At least 2-3 years of experience in the electrical field
Experience with residential, commercial, or industrial electrical systems.
Ability to work in various environments, including confned spaces, at heights, and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Lift heavy equipment or materials
Standing for long periods and manual labour for extended hours.
Understanding of electrical safety practices and procedures, including personal protective equipment (PPE).
Familiarity with OHSA standards and regulations related to electrical work.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, circuits, and electrical components.
Proficiency in using electrical tools and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
