Operation & Maintenance Company is looking for the following personnel to join their team:
The core purpose of this position is to provide effective management of a 75 MW and a 50 MW PV Plants to ensure all operational objectives are met.
Daily activities will include but not limited to the following:

Maintain a good understanding of daily operational issues.

Assist in coordinating tasks according to priorities and plans.
-
Problem analysis: evaluate the problems that arises in the photovoltaic system, undertake a technical investigation, provide and implement a technically sound solution to the problem as required.

Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met accordingly.
-
Supervision and issuing of the work permit to the co-workers and/or subcontractors and ensure that co-workers and/or contractors comply with work specifications.

Sets objectives for the maintenance team; manages site personnel performance based on assigned duties and maintains a record of their performance through regular, formal evaluations; and makes recommendations.

Ensure that employee policies and procedures are followed by all sites’ personnel; ensure that the manuals have been distributed to all employees and that the policies outlined within are reasonably understood by all staff members

Ensure fair implementation of complaint procedures. Administers appropriate disciplinary action in a fair and consistent manner, supported by clear, concise thorough documentation of events and actions resulting in the need for discipline.

Oversee training to enhance site employees’ technical knowledge in the safe operation and maintenance of the facility and its capital equipment as well as employee professional development.

Strive to ensure that plant perform at full capacity and efficiency.

Undertake to housekeeping, care of tools, materials, equipment, spare parts and in general all the elements of the plant.

Carry out legal and safe instructions issued by the Plant Manager to perform usual and additional duties complying with health and safety procedures for each task and area of work.

Enforce safety to the co-workers and subcontractors on site.
-
Active participation in troubleshooting (Fault-finding) or root cause analysis timeously when required.
-
Ensure that all notifications and report submission relating to the incidents and performance of the facility are submitted timeously.

Maintain good work relations with the client’s representatives and other stakeholders.
-
Oversee and assume responsibility for overall operations of the facility at the absence of the plant manager.
Requirements:

At least Tertiary qualification such as Diploma , Red Seal , Degree in electrical qualifications
-
At least 10 years working of which 5 years’ experience in Operation & Maintenance in power generation plants or Electrical Substations.

At least 8 years’ experience as a Supervisor, Team Leader or Plant management
-
Valid certificate as well as a good understanding of High Voltage Regulations
-
Excellent skills in Electrical Substations (knowledge of relay protections, HV breaker, HV transformers, HV switchgears, restart substations after breaker trips)
-
Experience in switching LV, MV and HV systems. Backed by POE (portfolio of evidence)
-
High computer literacy and a proficiency in MS Office
-
Experience with lock-out, tag out procedures.
-
Ability to read electrical drawings.
-
Solid understanding of SCADA system.
-
Solid understanding of the power system protection.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Thorough understanding of and the ability to repair and troubleshoot equipment used at the power plant.
-
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
-
Valid Driver’s license.
Skills/qualifications
