Description:
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Tax Administrator is responsible for registering all BC’s and HOA’s for income tax with SARS, as appropriate, as well as assisting in the preparation of internal Body Corporate and HOA documentation for annual audit by external auditors.
SCOPE
The Tax Administrator reports to the Portfolio General Manager, and is responsible for providing ongoing support to the PM Support Division Accountant and within the PM Division with regards to tax and audit matters. The Tax Administrator will also be assisting in skills transfer and mentoring with the annual CIMA intake with regards to the above functions within the property portfolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Income Tax Registration
Checking that all current and new buildings within property portfolio is registered for Income Tax with SARS
Completing all documents required to register buildings for Income Tax with SARS
Register all new developments for Income Tax with SARS
Following up on registration with SARS
Update and maintain schedule with all buildings’ income tax numbers
Submission of Audit Documentation
Completing and submission of documentation for audit purposes to auditors and/ or SARS as applicable under the supervision of the Tax and Audit Specialist
Income Tax Schedule
Update and maintain the income tax schedule with the following details: Registered and Trading As name of entity; Income Tax number; Relevant Tax Office per building, Public Officer details per building, Income Tax activity
Annual Audits
Preparing general ledger and files for submission to auditors
Compiling all necessary documentation for audit purposes
Liaising with auditors regarding audit progress
Resolving queries from auditors
Maintaining records with regard to each building’s audit status
Loading audit adjustments as appropriate
Company Documentation
Completing annual returns for all HOA’s within property portfolio
Submitting all director amendments for CIPC adjustment
Submitting registered office and auditors detail for CIPC purposes
Queries
Assisting and/ or resolving all income tax related queries as raised by SARS, Trustees/ Directors and auditors
Assisting HR Department with e-filing registration and access for buildings with employees for PAYE purposes
General Duties
Assisting with loading of new buildings
Skills transfer and mentoring for annual CIMA intake
Assist Tax and Audit Specialist as required
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
The incumbent must have completed a minimum of Grade 12/ Standard 10 (Matric) and a relevant tertiary qualification. The incumbent must have an excellent command of English as written and spoken language and be professional and presentable at all times. Working experience is not required but will be advantageous.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The incumbent will be based in an open plan office or working remotely as per company specifications and schedules, and will be faced with constant interruptions from different role players. The incumbent will be expected to spend some time assisting colleagues with the resolution of taxation queries on their portfolios.
The incumbent will be working in a highly pressurized environment, with strict timelines and turn- around times, which may cause the incumbent stress. The incumbent is further required to work accurately with a minimum tolerance for errors.
The incumbent will be required to deal with a wide variety of personalities on various matters.
