Description:
Our client is looking for an Enterprise Risk Specialist from the food industry to join their team in Hammarsdale, KZN. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and managing business risks, designing processes, policies, and procedures to safeguard the organization's objectives, customers, reputation, assets, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:

Assist in establishing and communicating the organization’s enterprise risk management (ERM) objectives and direction.

Integrate risk management with the strategy development process.
-
Develop and communicate risk management policies, risk appetite, and risk limits.
-
Develop risk mitigation strategies and monitor critical risks.
-
Implement ERM methodologies, tools, and techniques across divisions.
-
Conduct enterprise-wide risk assessments and maintain the strategic risk register.
-
Provide risk reports to senior management, the Executive Committee, and the Board.
-
Align the ERM process with all assurance providers and coordinate the annual Group Risk Management Plan.
-
Monitor the effectiveness of risk mitigation activities, including independent reviews.
-
Conduct risk management education and training.
-
Manage insurance claims, notifications, and annual declarations.
-
Prepare and monitor the annual risk management budget.
-
Consolidate and submit reports for Risk Committees.
-
Lead and manage the risk team, ensuring achievement of KPIs.
-
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.
-
Ensure accurate data management and reporting for decision-making.
-
Provide technical expertise in risk management, including training and advisory support.
-
Manage financial aspects, including budget adherence and cost optimization.
-
Contribute to functional strategy development and ensure alignment with business goals.

Drive employee development, training, and succession planning.
Requirements:
-
Minimum of a B-degree in Commerce, Science, or Engineering.
-
At least 4 years of experience in Audit or Risk Management.
-
Must have experience in the food industry.
-
Strong understanding of business processes, risks, and controls.
-
Knowledge of enterprise risk assessment and management.
-
Familiarity with SHEQ, legal, and sustainability risks.
-
Ability to analyze and interpret large volumes of data and financial information.
-
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
-
Experience in the poultry production and distribution industry would be advantageous.

Willingness to travel.
