Financial Modelling SpecialistAn exciting opportunity awaits a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Modelling Specialist to develop and maintain sustainable financial models that will drive key business decisions. This role requires expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and data analysis, with a strong focus on the mining industry. Key Responsibilities:- Develop financial models for both short-term (annual budget) and long-term planning (life-of-mine models).
- Conduct benchmarking and process analysis in collaboration with operational teams.
- Update and analyze financial data, including budgets, income statements, and forecasts.
- Provide cost-saving recommendations and performance improvement strategies.
- Structure reports on financial status and risks to support decision-making.
- Conduct business studies on past, present, and future performance to develop forecast models.
- Identify trends and ensure financial models reflect accurate and up-to-date information.
- Assist management in long-term strategic planning and investment decisions.
- Maintain and improve financial models to align with investor, sponsor, and financing requirements.
- Support new business development, including tenders and infrastructure finance initiatives.
- Attend meetings with key stakeholders such as investors, financiers, government agencies, and legal advisors.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- BSc Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Finance Analyst or Financial Modeller with strong forecasting expertise.
- Hands-on experience with statistical analysis and financial modelling techniques.
- Knowledge of financial regulations, accounting, taxation, and mining-related financial matters.
- Bachelor of Business Science (BBusSc) or BCom in Financial Mathematics, Accounting, or Statistics.
- Background in project and infrastructure finance, especially within the mining sector.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in financial modelling within the mining industry.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced financial modelling skills with a high degree of numerical accuracy.
- Experience in financial reporting and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentations.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Problem-solving ability with a proactive and independent work approach.
- Management experience is desirable.
