Our client is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have completed SAICA articles and have experience within construction, mining, engineering, or heavy manufacturing sectors . - Completed SAICA Articles (Essential)
- Strong experience in the logistics, construction, mining, engineering, or heavy manufacturing industries
- 5-8 years of experience in financial accounting with a leadership role
- Previous experience in system implementation and optimizing financial processes within a large operational environment
- Knowledge of industry-specific financial practices, including cost allocation, inventory management, and capital expenditure
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Syspro) and advanced Excel skills
- African footprint exposure with the ability to manage multi-national financial operations
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- A self-starter with the ability to take initiative and implement new financial strategies
- Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including monthly financial reports, cash flow management, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Implement and optimize financial systems and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy in reporting
- Collaborate with senior management to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with the company’s strategic goals
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve operational performance, cost control, and profitability
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and manage tax reporting and submissions
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, HR) to ensure the smooth integration of financial processes across the company
- Assist with the preparation for internal and external audits
