Limpopo - My client, an international concern, specialises in the manufacture, supply and installation of specialist equipment and technology for the fruit and vegetable sector. They are seeking to employ an PLC / Installations Technician to be based in Tzaneen. Requirements:- Electro-mechanical Trade Test (eg Millwright) or equivalent
- Previous exposure to PLC’s and programming. Omron experience will be advantageous
- Technical experience with regards to mechanical and industrial electricity
- Electronic and IT knowledge experience
- Fully bilingual (English and Afrikaans). Spanish or French would be an advantage
- Must have a valid Driver’s licence and valid / renewable passport
- The successful candidate must be willing to travel - mostly in South Africa but international travel will be required time to time
- Installation and commissioning of new machinery from inception to completion focusing on:

- Reduce and minimise minor stoppages and time loss due to operational stops by providing after sales service focusing on:

- Deal and follow up on customer queries and complaints.
- Provide detailed feedback to the group in order to implement technical solutions
- Encourage a "learn from experience" culture within the technical team by sharing and re-applying technical knowledge to improve efficiency of the team
- Specialised training, unique to the company will be provided to the successful candidate
- PLC troubleshooting
- Creating and following a set of procedures for a successful implementation according to all electronic equipment.
- Installing, adjusting & maintenance of electronic equipment.
- According to the consumer’s specification and plans, to be able to make and control the assembly of the electronic systems within the line.
- Assisting and providing support to technicians in prioritising and reducing minor stoppages, operational stop & change over time losses.
- Encouraging the learn from experience system by capturing, sharing and re-applying technical knowledge. Guarantees the correct application of technical rules, standards, methodology and tools.
- Analyses operation to be done in order to install electronics on the process line.
- Diagnose disfunctions and repair them.
- Develop electronic and IT programme.
- Dealing with Customer’s complaints
- Provides the best equipment settings (Electronic & hardware) to ensure equipment operates in normal conditions and changeovers are executed effectively and efficiently.
- Creates and uses tools to determine best solution to a problem or loss.
- In agreement with the Head Office Electronic Department, propose and coordinate updates according to the department procedures.
- Participates in the Executive committee meetings, reporting progress and deviations analysis through an action
