Our client is looking for an Operations Controller to join their team in Durban, KZN. This is a newly created role due to business expansion. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day operations, liaise with stakeholders, and occasionally assist with stock deliveries. The role requires immediate availability and includes a two-week training period in Cape Town upon joining.
Responsibilities:

Manage operational tasks including tracking container numbers, GEO numbers, and temperature monitoring.

Conduct analysis and sanity checks for Port, Depot, and PPECB Monitoring.

Handle dispute resolutions internally and externally.
-
Retrieve and manage temperature download data from supplier websites.
-
Monitor and respond to email alert notifications.
-
Assist with stock management, including distribution, deliveries to cold stores, and updating stock sheets.
-
Prepare acknowledgment letters and arrange courier/deliveries as needed.
-
Perform weekend duty rotations for all operations.
Requirements:

Grade 12 qualification (Essential).
-
Diploma in Shipping, Clearing and Freight Forwarding, Distribution and Logistics Business Management, or related field (Essential).
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in Freight Forwarding and Logistics, particularly with perishables (export-related).
-
Valid driver's license (Essential).
-
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in MS Office.

Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail.
-
Willingness to work additional hours when required.

Must be available to travel to Cape Town for the first two weeks of employment for training.
