ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

  • Implement engineering development activities to assess, monitor and support component localization, quality improvements and complexity reduction so as to ensure quality, reliability and acceptability of vehicles.
  • Arrange that all identified engineering activities for a development process related to Vehicle Engineering are actioned to meet corporate timing objectives.
  • Evaluate, approve and release vehicles, rejecting any component or assembly that does not meet Group engineering standards, local environment and customer requirements.
  • Collect and release data related to the total vehicle and monitor technical changes to ensure suitability of proposed changes with respect to usage, function, safety and performance of product.
  • Produce cost-effective engineering solutions to resolve product problems.
  • To support production and suppliers in resolving technical problems and queries.
  • Represent Vehicle Engineering at all levels during divisional activities, by participation in projects, discussions and presentations so as to define/negotiate/agree on engineering requirements and/or support/advise on engineering matters
  • Monitor and check the function of all test facilities and equipment related to the section.
  • ESSENTIAL:

    • Minimum of BSc/ B Eng/ B Tech degree in Engineering or National Diploma in Engineering
    • 2 - 5 years in an engineering environment, exposure to testing and measuring with a good understanding of the operation and functioning of an automobile.
    • Communication skills, including report writing
    • Technical engineering concepts and design, physics, electronics and measurement skills
    • Knowledge of German language
    • Problem solving
    • Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Notes, MS Projects)
    • Interpersonal skills
    • Presentation skills
    • Conflict management skills
    • High speed and defensive driving
    • Training skills
