Main Duties & Responsibilities:Lodge Infrastructure & Building Maintenance:Inspect and maintain guest rooms, public areas, staff housing, and lodge structures.Conduct repairs and ensure all buildings are in top condition.Electrical & Plumbing Systems:Maintain and repair wiring, lighting, water pumps, geysers, and sewage systems.Ensure uninterrupted water and power supply.Mechanical Maintenance:Assist with vehicle, generator, and machinery servicing.Oversee air-conditioning, refrigeration, and kitchen equipment repairs.Waste & Water Management:Ensure proper sewage treatment, recycling, and waste disposal.Maintain boreholes and water purification systems.Equipment & Tool Management:Keep an inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.Ensure proper use and care of lodge equipment.Security & Fire Safety:Maintain fire extinguishers, alarms, and emergency exits.Implement lodge security protocols to protect guests, staff, and assets.Team Leadership & Staff Training:Supervise maintenance team members and allocate tasks.Train staff on basic repair skills and safety procedures.Project Management:Assist the Maintenance Manager in renovation projects and upgrades.Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when needed.Emergency Response:Handle maintenance-related emergencies efficiently.Be on standby for urgent repairs outside normal working hours.Additional Considerations:Remote Lodge Experience Preferred – Candidates must be comfortable living in a remote bush environment with limited town access.Physical Fitness – Role requires manual labor, lifting, and working in outdoor conditions.Passion for Wildlife & Conservation – Understanding the impact of maintenance work on the natural environment and eco-sustainability. Must have 2 years’ experience in a lodge environmentMust be computer Literate, competent with office and admin duties

- Front Office Day sheets, gate access manifest, guest’s info., guest invoicing
- Waiters, Venues and service
Qualifications & Experience:
- Hospitality Management Diploma/Degree – Preferred but not always required if experience is extensive.
- Previous Lodge Experience – At least 2-3 years in a similar role at a 4-star (or higher) lodge.
- Front Office/FOH Experience – Experience handling guest check-ins, reservations, and concierge services.
- Financial/Admin Skills – Basic bookkeeping, invoicing, and cash-up procedures.
- Knowledge of Reservation Systems – Experience with Panstrat, Opera, ResRequest, or similar lodge PMS is beneficial.
- Valid Driver’s License – Often required for guest transfers or lodge errands.
- First Aid Certification – Advantageous for guest safety.
- Fluent in English – Additional languages (Afrikaans, French, German) are a plus.
- Excellent Guest Relations – Friendly, professional, and able to handle guest concerns efficiently.
- Strong Communication – Clear verbal and written communication with guests, staff, and management.
- Multi-tasking Ability – Managing reservations, check-ins, guest activities, and problem-solving at the same time.
- Attention to Detail – Ensuring high standards in guest service, cleanliness, and lodge presentation.
- Team Leadership – Ability to coordinate and assist other lodge departments (housekeeping, F&B, activities).
- Organizational Skills – Managing bookings, schedules, and lodge logistics smoothly.
- Problem-Solving & Conflict Resolution – Handling guest complaints or unexpected operational issues professionally.
- Computer Literacy – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), online booking platforms, and POS systems.
- Basic Accounting Knowledge – Handling petty cash, processing payments, and preparing reports.
- Cultural Awareness – Working with international guests and staff from diverse backgrounds.
