A reputable packaging Company in the Western Cape is looking to Employ a Distribution Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating, and monitoring Distribution operations such as warehousing, inventory management, receiving, WIP management, pallet management, waste stock and despatching and all FG despatching processes. Ensures that all deliveries are safely completed as soon as possible while using the resources within budget in the warehouse. Provide efficient service to suppliers through effective receiving practices and support production activities by providing raw materials to each section accurately, timeously as per the production plan. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
-Set, align teams’ performance targets to organizational objectives, and translating the goals into actionable plans.
-Driving team performance, fostering employee growth, and ensuring strategic goals are met.
-Managing team dynamics, addressing performance issues, navigating organizational changes, ensuring employee engagement.
-Lead the distribution teams effectively. This entails delegating tasks, offering guidance, and fostering collaboration among team members, all while ensuring everyone feels valued and motivated.
-Responsible for identifying training gaps and organizing training programs to help address the organization’s skill gaps.
-Builds and sustains positive relationships with team members, stakeholders and customers/clients. Is responsive to changes in customer/client and stakeholder needs and expectations.
MANAGEMENT OF FINISHED GOODS, DISPATCH AND RAW MATERIAL:
-Provide direction knowledge and support to the Finished Goods Unit manager and the dispatch manager to ensure success in the warehouse & dispatch environment.
-Manage and co-ordinate the Warehousing functions so that stock is identifiable, stock is easily retrievable, stock is kept in good condition, storage space is optimised, and stock is rotated (FIFO). This includes management of dispatch functions as well.
-Develop Maintain and improve all SOP and QFR for RM environment
-Audit and review KPIs liTAT, loading accuracy, weighbridge functions.
-Provide Resources and labour to projects as well as coordination of resources
-Manage Distribution Budget, headcount IS review and weekly reviews.
-Manage Distribution Waste.
-Ensure Pallet system is developed to ensure availability for factory to run.
REQUIRED MINIMUM AND ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
-Bachelor/ Degree (NQF 7) in Logistics or BCom in Supply Chain Management, or Industrial engineering or Production management.
-5 years’ experience in supply chain related function or environment, operating at a Supervisory level.
-Proficiency in Microsoft excel.
-Knowledge of ERP systems will be an added advantage.
-Knowledgeable in AutoCAD of Drafting program.
