Are you detail oriented and great with numbers? We are seeking a Junior Technical Accountant to assist with weekly and monthly betting tax calculations, ensuring accurate submissions to the Gambling Board. Your role will include reconciliations, variance investigations, and collaborating with the Project Accountant, FM, and CFO on various projects. You'll also be responsible for testing reports and liaising with the Gambling Board. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, proficiency in Pastel, and good communication skills. What You’ll Do for The Brand:

  • Prepare weekly/monthly betting tax calculations.
  • Ensure timely payment of betting taxes and submission of relevant documentation to the Gambling Board.
  • Under the supervision of the Project Accountant:
  • Liaise with the Gambling Board to resolve betting tax queries.
  • Review and test reports requested by the Gambling Board before submission.
  • Test tax reports to ensure compliance with required tax report types and rates.
  • Monthly reconciliation of betting tax control accounts in Pastel.
  • Reconcile BTC and report variances.
  • Investigate BTC variances and report them promptly.
  • Source outstanding tickets and bets brought forward reports, ensuring data accuracy through sample testing.
  • Test reports related to internal tax 2 and betting taxes when introducing new bet types, branches, etc.
  • Review betting tax rates on the system for new branches.
  • Maintain accurate records on the shared drive for betting tax calculations and submissions.
  • Identify and report weaknesses in the betting software related to betting taxes and calculations.
  • Identify errors and liaise with the Project Accountant for timely corrective action.
  • Provide support during audits related to the betting software.
  • Source internal tax 2 reports.
  • Support the Project Accountant, FM, and CFO with specific projects, reports, and data extractions.
  • Assist with company projects as needed by the Project Accountant, FM, or CFO.
  • Help with the preparation of annual budgets.
