My client is looking for an experienced Decking Foreman to oversee decking installations, ensuring quality workmanship, efficient project management, and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in timber and composite decking, team leadership, and site supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Planning & Preparation
- Review project plans and specifications.
- Schedule and coordinate material deliveries.
- Ensure site readiness before installation begins.
2. Site Supervision
- Manage and lead decking installers and labour teams.
- Ensure adherence to manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
- Conduct routine site inspections to maintain quality and efficiency.
3. Quality Control
- Inspect materials upon delivery for quality and suitability.
- Oversee installation techniques, spacing, fastening, and alignment.
- Maintain high workmanship standards throughout the project.
4. Health & Safety Management
- Enforce strict site safety protocols, including PPE and tool handling.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and risk assessments.
- Ensure equipment is correctly maintained and stored.
5. Time Management & Scheduling
- Keep projects on track with effective scheduling.
- Address and resolve any delays proactively.
- Provide accurate progress updates to management.
6. Communication & Liaison
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, suppliers, and office staff.
- Provide regular updates and address site-related concerns.
- Communicate any project adjustments or challenges promptly.
7. Problem-Solving
- Identify and resolve installation issues efficiently.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for solutions.
- Implement strategies to minimize disruptions.
8. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily site reports on progress, materials, labour, and incidents.
- Keep detailed photographic records.
- Report significant issues to senior management.
9. Cost & Materials Management
- Monitor and control material usage to prevent waste.
- Record material costs and labour expenses accurately.
- Ensure flexible, on-time management of additional material needs.
10. Training & Development
- Mentor and train installation teams to enhance skills.
- Provide ongoing feedback to improve productivity.
