Area: DurbanOur Client is Seeking a Sales Representative for the public and private utilities metering space, selling electricity, water, and gas metering solutions and products to public and private utility customers. The ideal candidate must be results-driven, business-savvy, and technically minded, with a proactive approach to seeking out and engaging customer prospects. Responsibilities include providing complete and appropriate solutions to boost top- and bottom-line revenue growth and profitability. Ensuring that agreed sales objectives are met or exceeded, growing revenue, profitability, and increasing market share within the private and public utility markets. Reporting to the Business Development Manager.
Key Performance Areas:
Promoted the companys products and services. Developed and implemented a customer growth strategy (Active hunting). Identified, pursued, and closed new business opportunities. Retained and grew existing customer business. Planned to meet sales targets and budgets. Analyzed and investigated pricing, demand, and competition. Conferred with customers and technical staff to assess equipment needs and determine system requirements. Conducted research and cold-called potential customers to identify new markets and customers. Created detailed proposal documents and formal bidding process documentation. Prepared and delivered technical presentations explaining products or services to prospective customers. Communicated new product developments to existing and prospective clients. Provided sales and forecast reports. Managed the sales cycle from inception to completion. Built long-term relationships with new and existing customers. Skills and Education Required:
Tertiary Qualification in Business, Electrical, and/or Engineering. Minimum of five (5) years proven sales track record and work experience in the electricity and/or water metering space. Experience in a technical sales environment. Proven track record achieving sales targets. Good communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to build and maintain customer relationships. Capability to grow in a competitive environment. Ability to handle and influence customers efficiently. Fluency in English. Willingness to travel extensively nationally. Other Requirements when Applying:
