Somerset West: My client, a well-established wholesale company in Somerset West, Western Cape, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to manage all aspects of stock control. Purpose of the Role: To ensure efficient stock management, precise tracking, and smooth coordination of imports, warehousing, and distribution operations. The role demands exceptional attention to detail, effective supplier collaboration, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include managing the entire supply chain process—placing international orders, supervising duty clearances, coordinating stock arrivals, and optimizing stock management across nationwide warehouses.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Capturing and verifying all purchase orders with overseas suppliers
- Checking pricing, product details, quantities, and correct incoterms on supplier invoices
- Coordinating with forwarding agents to ensure timely stock arrival, accurate clearance, and delivery to warehouses
- Completing clearing instructions accurately and promptly
- Tracking overseas shipments and planning warehouse deliveries
- Managing Inter-Branch Transfers (IBTs) between warehouses
- Ensuring all NRCS approvals and homologation documentation are obtained and on file
- Conducting full stock costing in Pastel Evolution
- Overseeing stock management with outsourced warehousing partners, ensuring no variances
- Performing full stock reconciliations across four warehouses and outsourced partners
- Attending biannual stock takes at the main warehouse in Johannesburg
- Supervising the on-site warehouse for stock-related issues
- Maintaining accurate stock records
- Relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain, logistics, or a related field
- 2-4 years of working experience in a commercial environment
- Strong team player with a can-do attitude
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Incoterms and SARS clearing documentation
- Requirement to complete SARS Customs duty competency assessment every five years
- Knowledge of accounting packages (Evolution advantageous)
- Ability to multitask with attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Logical thinker, motivated by practical and sustainable solutions
