Description:

Join my client in delivering excellence in payroll administration! My client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for multiple clients.

This role requires strong client relationship management, compliance with payroll regulations, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in payroll execution.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of payroll systems, tax and labor laws, and shared service payroll environments.

This role is based in Sandton, Johannesburg North.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Execution & Compliance:
  • Accurately process and execute payroll for clients within agreed timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with tax and labor legislation affecting payroll.
  • Work closely with Senior Compliance Consultants to implement legislative updates.
  • Ensure adherence to revenue service and legal requirements in various regions.
Client Relationship Management:
  • Oversee a portfolio of payroll clients, fostering strong relationships.
  • Conduct face-to-face client meetings to ensure service satisfaction.
  • Address and escalate payroll-related concerns to senior management when needed.
  • Track, monitor, and escalate service issues within the Shared Service environment.
Quality Assurance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure payroll accuracy, timely processing, and statutory report generation.
  • Maintain payroll process documentation and ensure adherence to service agreements.
  • Identify process improvements and drive efficiency in payroll operations.
  • Periodically review internal procedures to enhance service delivery.
Business Planning & Execution:
  • Ensure all payroll and HR processes are completed according to service level agreements.
  • Monitor client assignments, resource requirements, and project progress.
  • Train and support junior payroll team members.
Workforce & Calendar Management:
  • Ensure adherence to monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll cycles.
  • Conduct workforce planning and resource allocation discussions with leadership.
  • Supervise payroll administrators and assist in performance management.
Requirements:
  • Completed Diploma/Degree in Finance or Relevant Payroll qualification.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years' experience in an outsourcing/shared service payroll environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring payroll teams.
  • Extensive payroll knowledge and experience with computerized payroll system in PaySpace.
  • E-filing: manual tax calculations in Non-negotiable.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (formatting, calculations, data lookups).
  • Understanding of HR systems and their integration with payroll.
