Mechanical Engineer – Quality Engineer & Welding Inspector (Steel Industry) ð§We are looking for a highly detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer with expertise in manufacturing planning, technical drawings, quality engineering, and welding inspection. The ideal candidate is a perfectionist who thrives on precision, ensuring compliance in steel manufacturing processes.Position Overview:As a Mechanical Engineer who specialises in Quality & Welding Inspector, you will be responsible for:Reading and updating technical drawings with precise measurements.Overseeing quality control and welding inspection to maintain compliance.Conducting site visits to take measurements and verify client requirements.Managing manufacturing planning and scheduling to optimise production efficiency.Manage the production process whilst manufacturing occurs.This is East Rand role, but you will need to travel to various sites. Key Responsibilities:â Read, and update detailed technical drawings with precise measurements.
â Oversee quality engineering processes to ensure adherence to industry standards.
â Conduct welding inspections to assess joint integrity and compliance with specifications.
â Perform on-site measurements and inspections to align with client needs.
â Work closely with production teams to enhance planning, scheduling, and process efficiency .
â Identify and resolve technical discrepancies before fabrication.
Requirements:
â Degree in Mechanical Engineering .
â Experience in manufacturing planning and technical drawing interpretation .
â Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
â Hands-on expertise in quality engineering and welding inspection (certification preferred).
â Experience in quality control within a steel manufacturing environment .
â Detail-oriented and perfectionist mindset – accuracy is key!
â Ability to work on-site for measurements, welding inspections, and compliance checks .
