AIDE ELECTRICAL (Grading B2)
Job specification
- Must have a Grade 11 or equivalent qualification
- Must be in possession of an Electrical Aide certificate
- N2-N3 in Engineering relevant studies will be advantageous
- 2-3 years’ electrical experience as an aide within a mining environment is essential.
- Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages
- Independent judgment, initiative and interpersonal communication skills are essential
- Demonstrate in depth knowledge of electrical tools, equipment, and accessories
- Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must have a clear criminal record
Responsibilities
- Functional support, quality control and best practices within the Electrical environment
- Assist Electrician Artisans to carry out their duties efficiently and effectively by providing required support and assistance
- Work independently with minimal supervision within a designated area of responsibility
- Inspect, disassemble, reassemble, repair and maintain all minor components of electrical apparatus and equipment
- Manage and maintain equipment within a designated area of responsibility in accordance with prescribed standards and best practices
- Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1’s safety motto : “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
