Job Purpose:

Our Client is looking for a dependable and experienced Cashier Supervisor to oversee and support their cashier team at their busy Fruit & Veg retail store in East London. The ideal candidate must have experience operating POS systems , strong leadership skills , and a natural ability to lead by example. This role involves supervising day-to-day cashier operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining accurate and efficient till processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operations of the cashier team to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Assist with scheduling, break management, and floor coverage for cashiers
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of customer service at the till points
  • Handle escalated customer queries or complaints at the tills in a professional manner
  • Ensure all tills are operating correctly and report any technical issues immediately
  • Perform cash-ups, reconcile till variances, and ensure accurate daily balancing
  • Train new cashiers and refresh existing staff on POS procedures and store policies
  • Oversee proper scanning, pricing, and packaging practices
  • Maintain till areas to be clean, organized, and well-stocked (e.g. till rolls, bags)
  • Support the Store Manager and Retail Manager in enforcing store policies and procedures
