LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (Ref. No. 340)

  • Honours Degree in Construction Management/Quantity Surveying or equivalent NQF level 8
  • Minimum 3-year undergraduate qualification in the built environment.
  • At least 2 years of teaching/tutoring/industry experience with built environment software; WinQS, CCS, MS Projects, AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit.

Additional Recommendations

  • Good communication and lecturing skills.
  • A strong passion for technology, teaching, and research.
  • Experience with BIM.
  • Proof of 2 years of teaching, tutoring, or practical experience at a higher education or private institution.
  • Experience with OHS and procurement practices.

Summary of Duties

  • Teaching laboratory software at all levels.
  • The development of technological learning materials.
  • The successful candidate is expected to be actively involved in technological research development in the department.
  • Oversee the operations of the computer and practical laboratory, in maintaining existing infrastructure, software, hardware, and computing.
  • Assist with departmental, administrative, and other duties as the Head of Department prescribes.
