LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (Ref. No. 340)
- Honours Degree in Construction Management/Quantity Surveying or equivalent NQF level 8
- Minimum 3-year undergraduate qualification in the built environment.
- At least 2 years of teaching/tutoring/industry experience with built environment software; WinQS, CCS, MS Projects, AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit.
Additional Recommendations
- Good communication and lecturing skills.
- A strong passion for technology, teaching, and research.
- Experience with BIM.
- Proof of 2 years of teaching, tutoring, or practical experience at a higher education or private institution.
- Experience with OHS and procurement practices.
Summary of Duties
- Teaching laboratory software at all levels.
- The development of technological learning materials.
- The successful candidate is expected to be actively involved in technological research development in the department.
- Oversee the operations of the computer and practical laboratory, in maintaining existing infrastructure, software, hardware, and computing.
- Assist with departmental, administrative, and other duties as the Head of Department prescribes.
