Maintenance Engineer - GautengJoin a well-known FMCG Manufacturin Group in their Pretoria Plant The Engineer will be responsible for directing the smooth operation of the plant. Plan and coordinate activities concerned with the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery.Responsibilities:
- Drive compliance by ensuring equipment and machinery comply with relevant legislation and that plant personnel fulfil their safety obligations.
- Risk assessments in order to provide a safe and healthy work environment. This includes fulfilling GMR2.1 duties as stipulated in the OHS Act.
- Control and manage the maintenance budgets
- Implement, improving and executing the maintenance strategy, objectives and tactics in respect of the available resources to ensure optimum performance and reliability of the plants.
- Drive effective maintenance through root-cause failure analyses on critical equipment and/or system failures and recommend corrective measures to prevent recurrences.
- Responsible for the accuracy of equipment database, bills of material and the asset register to ensure good data integrity and availability of equipment and/or spares.
- Manage the engineering discipline & interaction with the Operations Department to optimize processes and improve systems with the purpose of optimizing efficiencies
- Matric and a completed National Diploma/BTech/BSc in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- Trade Test would be advantageous
- 5+ years’ experience as Plant Engineer/ Engineering Manager in FMCG
- Proven track record – of leading a site as plant engineer
- Computer literacy (MS Office - Advanced)
- Working knowledge of ERP Systems
- Project Management skills
