We’re searching for a skilled, hands-on, and proactive Maintenance Manager to oversee the full technical and operational maintenance of a prestigious 5-star lodge. Set in a remote and pristine natural environment, this role is ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, leading a team, and ensuring the smooth running of all lodge systems and facilities.As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for all infrastructure, machinery, systems, and equipment – ensuring everything from water filtration to solar power and generator systems operates at peak performance. You'll lead a small, dedicated team and play a critical role in guest satisfaction, safety, and operational continuity.- Oversee day-to-day maintenance of lodge infrastructure (buildings, water, electrical, plumbing, pools, HVAC, etc.)
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules and emergency repairs across all lodge departments
- Supervise and mentor the maintenance team, ensuring high standards and responsiveness
- Maintain and monitor backup power systems (generators, inverters, solar setups)
- Ensure all safety, health, and environmental standards are strictly followed
- Work closely with Lodge Manager and department heads to anticipate and respond to maintenance needs
- Maintain workshop inventory, tools, and spares, ensuring timely procurement and cost control
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and technical service providers as needed
- Maintain maintenance logs, reports, and compliance records
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in lodge/hotel/remote property maintenance, ideally at a 4- or 5-star level
- Strong technical knowledge in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, and general building systems
- Experience with solar power, borehole/water systems, and generator maintenance
- Excellent leadership, communication, and planning skills
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment
- Valid driver's license essential
- Formal qualification in building maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields an advantage
