JOB DESCRIPTION:
The company is looking for a highly motivated Finance Manager to contribute to and implement our strategy, lead people, improve systems, establish policies, and reduce risk. This role will report directly to the Senior Financial Manager.
EDUCATION:
-
Relevant Business bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Strong operational finance experience.

Strong people management experience.
-
Experience with multiple systems that interlink.
-
Good current-day knowledge of IFRS.
-
Understanding of financial systems – Great Plains and HFM experience advantageous.
-
At least 5+ years’ experience managing a team.

Proven experience as a finance manager.

Excellent planning and budgeting skills.
-
Strong analytical ability and experience in analysing large data sets and interpreting the data.

Experience with ERP system migration (preferable).

Articles experience (preferable).

DUTIES / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
-
All financial matters, including budget development, planning & reporting, managing accounts, and financial reporting.
-
All operational matters and overseeing activities to ensure safe and cost-effective management.
-
Maintain overall supervision and responsibility for the completeness and accuracy of the accounting records of each operating entity.
-
Provide meaningful recommendations, explanations, and highlights of concerns or anomalies by analysing and interrogating financial information.
-
Develop, prepare, and submit accurate financial reporting via Hyperion, monthly in accordance with predetermined deadlines.
-
Analyse monthly cashflows against forecast/budget.
-
Manage annual budget and quarterly forecast process, monitor expenses, carry out balance sheet reconciliation review and manage reporting processes.
-
Review consolidated monthly management accounts and provide commentary.
-
Consolidate financial reports (quarterly Board Packs, including Risk Register) and make value-adding recommendations by using information from various sources.
-
Analyse fund performance monthly and interact with fund actuaries.
-
Engage with all operational departments as well as head office finance on financial and other matters.
-
Evaluate financial processes and implement corrective action to ensure alignment and standardization within the division.
-
Ensure change controls, internal quality assurance reviews, and other internal management processes are followed.
-
Oversee development and implementation of finance projects. Engage with business, software, and IT.
-
Provide support to business and finance operations departments.
-
Review tax returns to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax legislation and regulation.
-
Provide advice and solutions to business tax matters.
-
Review monthly VAT returns to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable VAT legislation and regulation.

Engage with internal and external auditors.
