Our client, Cederberg Farming based in Trawal, is looking for an experienced Unit manager with sound competence in farming Table Grapes, Vegetables (Butternuts, Pumpkin), Wine grapes, Pomegranates and Raisins. The prominent farming activities are Table Grapes (net covered) and Vegetables (open farming).The suitable candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *To implement and oversee all Table Grape and Vegetable farming operations in the Unit to ensure efficiency and productivity *Strategise and execute work plans in coordination with the upper management *Build and manage high-performing teams while promoting and fostering a positive and productive work environment *Monitor, control, and accurately report on all key operational metrics *Initiate and maintain reference trials and test plots for continuous improvement and innovation *Demonstrate a proactive approach in researching and analysing various KPI’s, leveraging entrepreneurial skills to drive innovation and enhance company performance *All other tasks related to the position.
Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
• Relevant qualification in Agriculture;
• At least 5 years’ practical experience in fertilization, crop protection, irrigation, Table Grape vine management, Vegetable cultivation and effective crop rotation practices;
• Proven knowledge and experience of traditional farming with modern agricultural developments;
• Strong computer skills (MS Office, specifically Excel);
Fully paid employer provided housing included.
