Description:

Our client in Parow is seeking a skilled Machinist with experience in Conventional Milling and Turning Machines (Artisan). The ideal candidate will have a Matric (Grade 12) qualification, along with a Trade Certificate or relevant qualification in Machining, Fitting & Turning, or a related field. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working with relevant machinery is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, dependability, and excellent problem-solving skills. REQUIREMENTS:

DUTIES:
  • Set up and operate conventional milling and turning machines to manufacture components according to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure precision machining.
  • Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments to optimize machining operations.
  • Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure components meet required tolerances.
  • Monitor machine performance, making necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain and clean machines, tools, and work areas to ensure safe and effective operation.
  • Identify and troubleshoot machining errors and material defects, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to workplace safety regulations and company quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to improve processes and optimize production.
HOURS:
  • Monday to Thursday: 07:45 – 16:30 (30 minute break from 13:00 – 13:30)
  • Friday: 07:45 – 15:00 (30 minute break from 11:00 – 11:30)
