Minimum requirements for the role:A food sciences qualification and or related is essential for the role. Previous experience having worked in a compliance / regulatory role or in a supplier quality assurance, internal auditing and general food compliance role within the food manufacturing industry is essential for the role. Previous short training courses on HACCP, ISO 22000 and/or FSA audits would be desirable. Food safety background is essential for familiarity with various management systems in use across all customers. Previous food safety auditing experience and /or knowledge of other audits such as organic, ethical or sustainability or environmental management systems will be advantageous. Good practical use of computers and modern online systems that vary widely. Ability to communicate in English at all levels to complete questionnaires in concise and well-structured language. Knowledge of local regulations, national and iso standards and national compulsory specifications is preferred. Must have the ability to meet deadlines. Must have good communication and Excel skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Managing and overseeing all compliance, food safety and regulatory responsibilities of all food, personal care and animal feeds raw materials supplied into the manufacturing markets to ensure that their products remain compliant. Working closely with senior management to ensure that all regulatory matters are handled correctly and timeously. Working closely with the companies customers to ensure that all products that are imported and are compliant. Ensuring high standards of food raw material ingredients are in accordance with good practice and other legal requirements. Providing HACCP and VACCP input to third party warehousing partners regarding products being stored at all facilities as well as conducting internal audits at warehousing facilities as needed. Working closely with the SHEQ Officer in preparation for FSA audits. Maintaining company food safety policies and keep up to date and in line with local and international food safety management systems. Align policies with those of the third-party warehousing partner whenever practical to present a united supplier status. Preparing documents for organic audits to satisfy Ecocert. Preparing policies and procedures for SMETA / sustainability audits as required by the company directors. Liaising with supplier on contaminant testing for pesticide residues, mycotoxins, heavy metals, and any other annual or quarterly testing requirements of the customers. Advising the company on regulatory matters pertaining to the foodstuffs, cosmetics and disinfectants act as well as other related regulations applicable in the broad industry. Proving regulator
