Join my client's team as a Payroll Administrator – Accuracy, Compliance, and Efficiency Matter! My client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in payroll administration.

This role is based in Springs, Johannesburg East.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer payroll information and ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Validate, check, and capture payroll and leave input.
  • Compile and review payroll variances and other relevant controls before payroll finalization.
  • Guide Payroll Clerks and business units on new payroll processes and forms.
  • Validate dismissals/resignations and verify final pay-outs.
  • Resolve second-line payroll-related queries within agreed service levels.
  • Review and approve interim payments.
  • Oversee payroll filing and ensure proper documentation.
  • Manage the printing and distribution of payslips on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Organise and implement payroll processes to ensure smooth and timely payroll runs.
  • Reconcile payroll data with third-party vendors and resolve discrepancies within 30 days.
  • Compile and distribute month-end reports to business units.
  • Manage month-end processes, including preparation and reconciliations.
  • Recommend improvements and implement changes in payroll processes and systems.
  • Test cost components and legislative changes affecting payroll.
  • Report system issues to the IT department and ensure resolution.
  • Participate in and contribute to payroll-related projects and initiatives.
  • Provide payroll-related information to management, customers, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, delegation of authority, and statutory legislation.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required within the scope of the role.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Finance or Payroll related.
  • 5 years proven experience in payroll administration, with a headcount of 1 000 employees.
  • Must come from a Shared Services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, legislation, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve payroll queries effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
