Job & Company DescriptionsA global engineering and construction management company has a permanent position available for a Senior Financial Accountant CA(SA). If you have an industry background in engineering, mining or construction along with a solid understanding of international accounting standards, this role is perfect for you. You’ll be contributing to the financial management of complex engineering projects while working closely with corporate stakeholders, project managers, procurement teams, and finance leadership . Duties:
- Prepare Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Manage general ledger (GL), reconciliations, and the financial close process.
- Ensure accurate tax compliance, including VAT, corporate tax, and withholding tax, and liaise with auditors.
- Monitor project costs, track work-in-progress (WIP), revenue recognition, and project profitability.
- Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and ensure project expenditures are controlled.
- Assist in cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and multi-currency transactions.
- Ensure timely processing of accounts payable and receivable, and manage billing cycles.
- Work with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) to maintain accurate financial data and drive process improvements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for projects and business operations.
- Provide support during audits, financial reviews, and regulatory inspections.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and EPCM industry practices.
Qualifications & skills:
- CA(SA) qualification is a must.
- Experience in EPCM, construction, or engineering environments.
- In-depth understanding of project accounting, WIP reporting, and cost management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of international accounting standards, multi-currency transactions, and tax regulations.
