Description:
Ensure effective functioning of the Engineering Department with regards to the maintenance, manufacturing, repairs and safety of equipment and machines.Grade 12 with N6 Certificate
Qualified artisan: Fitter & Turner or Millwright with trade certificate
5 Year post apprenticeship in the Pharmaceutical or FMCG Industry
The following experience is essential :
Injection and or Blow molding Film extrusion Electro Pneumatics and Hydraulics. Pharmaceutical liquids filling an advantage Computer Literacy: MS Office
Determines the required staff complement to adequately man the department
Prepares, monitors and controls the relevant expense and capital expenditure budgets
Plans artisans workload / Interfaces with Planning Department
Ensures that mechanical maintenance standards are maintained and improved throughout the plant
Ensure Plant machinery Reliability, Maintainability and Availability improvement
Support creation and scheduling of PM routines
Monitor machines variance from desired performance and work-order status and identify rework
Track cost and performance data on equipment and work management process
Review existing Maintenance strategies or techniques per plant
Participates in the purchase of new equipment. Assesses and commissions new equipment and services
Advice on availability of spares
Assists with unusual breakdowns and problem solving
Provides technical advice to production and artisans
