Optimi is looking for a dedicated and experienced Online School Educator to teach Economics and Life Orientation to join the team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in economics and life skills education and be passionate about engaging and inspiring learners in a virtual learning environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bed Degree or PGCE in relevant subject field
- SACE registered.
- 5 years teaching in the Snr/FET phase
- Extensive subject knowledge and good teaching and assessment skills.
- Experience with online teaching (will be advantageous when applying for the position).
- Computer literacy (essential): MS suite, Google Chrome.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
DUTIES
- Teach learners based on national curriculum guidelines within your specialist subject areas.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons.
- Assist learners in unlocking problems through clear and insightful explanations and guidance.
- Support the leadership team to implement the online school’s development plan.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, caregivers, support workers, and other professionals to safeguard and ensure the educational and holistic welfare needs of learners.
- Research, suggest, apply, and advise on new trends, products, and technologies relevant to education.
- Ensure the highest standards of quality and apply innovative teaching methods.
- Setting or moderating of formal assessments as well as marking of the assessment components.
- Provide feedback to the management team on teaching and learning sessions and the learners' progress.
- Manage parent interactions and general communications.
- Manage the daily tasks such as e-mails and interaction/communication with all relevant stakeholders.
