Viticulturist/Farm Manager

Eagles’ Nest Wine Estate, located in the historic Constantia wine valley is seeking a young Viticulturist/Farm Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate, in conjunction with the Cellarmaster, will serve a key role in overseeing the day to day running of the farm with a key focus on vineyard management and development for ultra premium wine production.

Duties will include (but not be limited to): *Managing and working alongside the labour teams, both permanent and contract labour *Coordinating all vineyard practises and harvest activities, in conjunction with the cellarmaster and carrying out tasks accurately and timeously *Overseeing the development of new vineyard plantings and all the associated actions such as, soil preparation, weed control, irrigation management, soil amelioration, planting etc. *Vineyard health monitoring across all vineyards *Implementation and management of spray programs and fertigation programs *Data capturing, record keeping and IPW *Upkeep and maintenance of farm equipment and infrastructure *All other tasks related to the role.

Essential minimum qualifications, skills, and experience:
• A degree in Viticulture and Oenology (Stellenbosch or Elsenburg);
• Minimum 2-5 years' vineyard management experience - specifically young vine training and development;
• Precision viticulture practices and knowledge;
• Excellent administrative and communication skills (Afrikaans and English);
• Strong computer proficiency (MS Office, Wine MS & relevant wine industry software);
• Own reliable transport with valid drivers license. Code 10 and forklift will be advantageous;
• Willingness to work overtime, especially during the harvest season.
