Job Title: Project Scheduler (Oil & Gas)
Location: Saudi Arabia Department: Project Management Reports To: Project Manager/Program Manager Employment Type: [Fixed Term Contract]

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Scheduler with a strong background in the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing project schedules to ensure timely completion of oil and gas projects. The role requires a deep understanding of industry-specific processes, regulations, and safety requirements, as well as proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

Key Responsibilities:


Project Scheduling:


Develop, update, and manage comprehensive project schedules for multiple oil and gas projects from initiation through to completion.


Define project tasks, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables in consultation with project managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders.


Monitor progress against the project schedule and ensure all project activities are completed on time.




Resource and Cost Management:


Coordinate resource allocation (human resources, equipment, and materials) based on project requirements and schedule constraints.


Maintain and track project costs to ensure adherence to the budget, and provide early warning for potential cost overruns or schedule delays.




Risk and Issue Management:


Identify potential risks and delays in the project schedule and work with the project team to implement mitigation strategies.


Track critical path activities and make necessary adjustments to ensure the project remains on track.




Collaboration & Communication:


Collaborate with cross-functional teams (project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams) to ensure proper coordination of project tasks.


Provide regular status updates to project managers and senior leadership regarding schedule performance, delays, and risks.


Participate in project meetings to discuss schedule performance and adjust timelines as necessary.




Progress Reporting:


Prepare and present periodic project schedule reports, including critical path analysis, earned value management (EVM), and variance analysis.


Provide detailed reports on schedule performance, key milestones, and any changes to the original schedule.




Compliance and Safety:


Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements throughout the project lifecycle.


Integrate safety milestones and inspections into the project schedule and ensure proper reporting of safety metrics.




Documentation:


Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of project schedules, resource allocation, change requests, and schedule adjustments.


Ensure that all project schedules are aligned with contract milestones and deliverables.





Required Qualifications & Skills:


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field (preferred). Relevant certifications or diplomas in project scheduling or management are a plus.


Experience:


At least 5-7 years of experience in project scheduling, specifically in the oil and gas industry.


Proven experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project for scheduling and resource management.


Strong understanding of oil and gas industry processes, including exploration, drilling, production, and transportation.




Key Skills:


In-depth knowledge of project scheduling techniques and tools (e.g., critical path method, Gantt charts, resource leveling).


Proficiency in cost control and earned value management (EVM) techniques.


Strong understanding of safety standards and regulations in the oil and gas sector.


Ability to identify and mitigate risks and delays in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with various teams and stakeholders.




Certifications (preferred):


Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.


AACE International Certification in Scheduling or Planning (e.g., PSP - Planning & Scheduling Professional).


Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project certification is a plus.
