We're looking for a Lead Control & Instrumentation Engineer to play a key role in EPCM projects, overseeing design, execution, and optimization of control systems that will shape the future of mining automation.Our client is redefining mineral processing with greener, smarter technologies. Specializing in Projects & Engineering Services, Operations Management, and Process Equipment, they’re paving the way for more sustainable and efficient mining operations. Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and specification of instrumentation and control systems, ensuring integration with process, electrical, and mechanical disciplines .
- Develop P&IDs, loop diagrams, I/O lists, and instrument indexes .
- Specify and select field instrumentation (flow meters, pressure transmitters, level sensors, control valves).
- Design PLC/HMI/SCADA architectures and automation solutions.
- Manage instrumentation scope from concept to commissioning in mining and mineral processing plants .
- Oversee FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, and construction support .
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize plant automation and instrumentation solutions.
- Support project scheduling, cost estimation, and budget control .
- Develop technical specifications, datasheets, and requisitions for control & instrumentation equipment.
- Evaluate vendor proposals, conduct technical bid analysis, and oversee factory acceptance testing (FAT) .
- Oversee instrumentation installation, loop checks, and commissioning on-site.
- Conduct Site Acceptance Testing and troubleshoot control system performance.
- Interface with clients and contractors
- Drive innovation in plant automation and process optimization .
What We’re Looking For
- BSc OR BEng Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering
- 5-15 years’ experience in EPCM mining & mineral processing projects .
- Expertise in PLC/HMI/SCADA and industrial networking protocols (Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
- A problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
