An upmarket restaurant in Cape Town is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to support daily operations and ensure an exceptional dining experience. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a passion for hospitality, strong operational skills, and the ability to manage a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations. Lead and motivate the service team, ensuring exceptional customer service and a welcoming atmosphere. Manage staff scheduling, training, and performance to maintain service excellence. Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and ensure cost control. Handle guest relations, resolving any service issues efficiently and professionally. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards. Assist with marketing and promotions, including social media and special events. Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication and efficient service. Oversee cash-ups, financial reporting, and budget control as required.Requirements:
South African ID or valid work permit. Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role within an upmarket restaurant. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team. Excellent knowledge of restaurant operations, service standards, and customer satisfaction.
