Description:
Requirements:Degree or Diploma (min NQF6) in chemical engineering, materials science or related field.
Drivers licence
3-5 years of relevant experience in an oil laboratory and used oil analysis in an operational mining environment.
Understanding various oil analysis methods, including spectrometry, viscosity measurement, and particle counting.
Knowledge of lubrication properties, types of lubricants, and their applications in machinery.
Familiarity with maintenance practices and protocols related to machinery and equipment.
In-depth knowledge of laboratory instruments used in oil analysis, including calibration procedures and maintenance standards.
Ability to interpret complex data sets and understand the implications for equipment performance and maintenance needs.
Awareness of industry regulations and standards related to oil analysis and laboratory practices (e.g., SABS).
Proficient in analysing and interpreting oil samples to identlify trends, faults and maintenance needs.
Ability to compile reports sumarising findings, recommendations and action plans.
Strong problem-solving abilities to identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend effective solutions.
Skilled in implementing quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analysis results.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee comprehensive analysis of oil samples to assess equipment condition and identify maintenance requirements.
Monitor oil analysis results alongside maintenance history to determine potential causes of equipment failures.
Perform thorough physical inspections of equipment and components to corroborate findings from oil analysis.
