Description:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing engineering teams to deliver high-quality design, development, and implementation of products, systems, or infrastructure. This role involves managing multiple projects, ensuring the technical team meets deadlines, adheres to industry standards, and operates within budget. The Engineering Manager provides technical leadership, mentors engineers, and collaborates with other departments to achieve business objectives. The role requires a balance of leadership, technical knowledge, and project management skills.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance engineering culture. Identify team training needs and support professional development opportunities for engineers. Recruit, train, and retain top engineering talent, ensuring the team remains motivated and focused. Managed multi-disciplinary projects (Energy / Water / Transport / Development / Oil and Gas) Ability to manage multiple multi discipline projects concurrently.Project Management and Execution:
Oversee the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Allocate resources effectively to maximize productivity and project success. Collaborate with project managers to develop project timelines, goals, and milestones, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Track project progress, manage risks, and resolve technical challenges as they arise. Cash flow management (invoice adherence to schedule and receipt thereof) Exco level Portfolio and Project Reporting (expected versus actual (completion / invoicing / cash flow) Client liaison for all work in execution during all stages (feasibility / pre construction / construction / commission and hand over)Technical Leadership:
Provide technical expertise and leadership in the design and development of products, processes, or systems. Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and documentation, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology, industry best practices, and engineering methodologies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing processes, tools, and technologies to enhance engineering efficiency and product quality.
